Chevron Scarf and Mitts

Here are my finished Chevron Scarf and Mitts! I followed the instructions but quit knitting when the scarf reached 82". Then, to use some of my leftover yarn, I knit the mitts. They'll keep my wrists warm while knitting next winter. Yay!







I used Socks That Rock Mediumweight in Rhodonite and Lemongrass and the pattern is from LMKG.

Rockin' Socks

I just finished my sock club socks and I'm so excited that I took some bad photos so I could post them here right away!








I also Pre-Ordered yarn that I won't even see until June or July.




They were ordered from Astrid's Dutch Obsessions. They're Kaffe Fassett and I don't know much about him but I've seen his books, fabrics, and sweaters. He has a wonderful sense of color.
I can wait for yarn that looks this yummy!

Rockin' Sock

I have been working on my first Rockin' Sock Club sock. It's my first foray into short row toes and heels and I really love the pattern so far. I was really skeptical about knitting a medium weight yarn on such tiny needles because I figured it would feel like walking around in cardboard boxes. They are very sturdy but not stiff like I feared.





The pattern is named "Inside Out" because the socks are reversible. I happen to favor the look of the "inside", which is pictured here.
I haven't gotten much work done because I've been so busy dying yarn. Ever since the mention on Lime & Violet, I can't keep yarn in the shop! This is the best problem I've ever had!

Foo-Foo and the Very Bad Knitter

So, someone on Flickr posted a colorway from Socks that Rock named Foo-Foo. My sisters nickname, at least growing up, was Foo-Foo (I really don't know why). You know I had to get it. But, if I'm paying $5.50 shipping on 1 skein or 3, I'll take 3!

Anyhow, my sis isn't a knitter so I will make socks or a scarf for her from Foo-Foo. Hopefully this package and my Rockin' Sock Club package will arrive concurrently so, if my husband sees them, he'll think they're all part of my first month installment! I'd rather just be the one home when the mail shows up!

If I had gotten some for Christmas...

..it probably wouldn't have made any difference. I just ordered these...

Actually, I'm only pre-registered and it won't be official until I've paid in January. It's $210 for a year (6 kits) which is, like, $35 for a pair of socks(..."that you have to knit yourself", my husband would say, if I ever let him know)! But, come January 1st I'll have lots of freshly gifted Christmas money in hand (one would hope) and I will love those pricey socks with all my heart!
