For my Father-in-Law

These will go to my Father-in-Law who is a Princeton Alum ( they have or had a tiger for their mascot). They, of course, are knit from the
Opal Rainforest Tiger yarn. I just thought I'd post a FO instead of balls of yarn. This is on my list of things to do before I start Icarus. It feels good to have them done. Now I have to wonder if a 70 year old man will wear tiger striped socks...

The Results

Well, here are the actual yarns purchased from handpaintedyarn.com in the same order as the last post. They got here very fast but one of them doesn't match its mug shot. Can you guess which one? Like, it's not even close! But I do like it. Thankfully I can see beauty in all yarn. Now, I have to choose one for Icarus. Any suggestions? Anyone? Bueller?

Yarn for Icarus...

I've never made anything large from laceweight yarn. I plan on knitting the Icarus shawl from Interweave Knits Spring 2006 . So that means I had to buy some yarn! I ordered from handpaintedyarn.com. I know it will take like, a month, to get here so I have time to finish the 5 other projects I'm currently juggling. Anyhow, these are the colors I ordered. I'll decide which one when they get here. Usually the photo and the actual yarn are a little different. I figured whatever yarn I don't use on this shawl will not go to waste. If it's an easy knit, maybe I'll make one for a Christmas gift. I shouldn't get ahead of myself.
