New Socks!

I bought this yarn to make socks for my husband and he wasn't really impressed. That means it's mine! And now, so are these!

"Goa" Regia India Cotton Socks

They're kind of a boyish color for me, but they go with everything! Also, they're super soft after washing.
The yarn is Regia India Cotton in "Goa".
I worked cuff down and did a basic 6x2 rib.

Chevron Scarf and Mitts

Here are my finished Chevron Scarf and Mitts! I followed the instructions but quit knitting when the scarf reached 82". Then, to use some of my leftover yarn, I knit the mitts. They'll keep my wrists warm while knitting next winter. Yay!

I've Been... Tagged!

This is my first meme and I was tagged by The Knitting Moose!

Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

Here are my facts:

1. I share my name with the housewife that tried to kill her husband with Mashed Potatoes.

2. I've never been off the continent of North America (not by choice).

3. in 1982, my sister and I planned on marrying members of Duran Duran (John for me, Nick for her). We were only 11 and 12 so it never worked out.

4. Anytime is a good time for egg salad sandwiches.

5. I apparently can tell what's happening on an episode of X-Files by the music alone.

6. If I hear a noise in the middle of the night that sounds like a distressed animal, I will run outside in my PJ's and search until I save it/ figure out that the noise is a rusty gate blowing in the wind.

7. I like to jump out from behind doors and scare my dog (she likes it too).

Yay!

Fairies and Wizards...

"Penelope - The Fairy of New Opportunities" Socks

These are knit from a yarn I purchased at Lime & Violet's Etsy shop. The yarn is called "Penelope - The Fairy of New Opportunities" and it's knit into just a basic toe up ribbed sock. They're very soft and I know I'll wear 'em to death when it gets cooler again. I also got this...

I have to admit, I've never read a Harry Potter book (I'm always knitting!) but, everyone in my family has. This will be the knitted gift guide this year. It's really cute.

Off to make the Chevron grow...
